Hello WAMI Friends! Here is our news, we would love to see you all there,
Beef Tea string band from Sheboygan County is releasing their debut album Morning Light this month. The album will be available on Itunes, CDbaby, Amazon and other fine stores on March 23, 2013. A CD release party with live performances is planned for Saturday, March 23rd from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Hops Haven/Three Sheeps Brewery located at 1327 N 14th St. in Sheboygan. Those under the age of 21 are welcome with a parent until 6 p.m. CDs and other merchandise will be for sale. Complimentary appetizers and beverages will be provided while supplies last.
Morning Light evolved from common roots of Americana and bluegrass music – yet builds with a vast array of new sounds. Listeners can enjoy driving melodies and intricate harmonies embedded with lyrics that speak to multiple generations. Morning Light plays on the essential aspects of music and how it is integral to our lives. “The ideas in the album originate from the growing pains of starting a family, the monotony of a work day, the perpetual visits of a sleepless night, and the defiant stride into the unknown future – life basically,” said lead vocalist Danika Williamson. We hope you enjoy the music of Morning Light.

I’m a songwriter/bassist from Neenah, WI and I’m currently writing and recording under the band name, Twenty-One. For the last few months, I’ve been slalving away at White Raven Audio, in downtown Appleton, working on five original tunes for a 5-song EP. On 12/9/2012, two of those songs – “Blister” and “Another Second Chance” – were released as singles to iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Rhapsody, Spotify, iHeartRadio, etc. Check out my songs, “Like” my Facebook page and help support local original music! You can also check out my web store, where I’m hoping to have an actual disc copy of the tunes available very, very soon. My plan is to include both singles on the disc, as well as rough demo versions of both singles and some cool album art. Thanks, everyone!
Good luck with the new release! Please feel free to post links to your web store when the CD is available.

Well Informed Citizens Release New “Leaders of the Revolution” Single
Catchy hard-hitting tune serves as theme for “WI MMA Today” Television Show on My24
Monday, December 17, 2012 (Milwaukee, WI USA) As a follow up to their 2011 full-length self-titled debut, Milwaukee’s Well Informed Citizens have released their first single “Leaders of the Revolution,” off their new, full-length album to be released spring 2013.
The song is a collaboration between writers Daniel Nathan and 2011 WAMI “Best Hip Hop Artist” winner Blax, formerly of the popular Milwaukee band Fresh Cut Collective. The track features Blax on vocals, Daniel Nathan on guitar and backing vocals, Brian Nolan on drums, Zach Steiner on bass, and is produced by Jack LeTourneau. It is the first release on LeTourneau and Nathan’s new record label Citizen Recordings, and is available to stream and download at http://www.wellinformedcitizens.com.
“Leaders of the Revolution” has a hard-hitting, Rage Against the Machine style riff and the heavy vibe will serve as the theme for WCGV My24 Milwaukee’s new “WI MMA Today” television show produced in partnership with the Wisconsin National Guard and CONCEDE.
“WI MMA Today” is created and produced by Milwaukee based Roufusport MMA Academy and North American Fighting Championship’s (NAFC) Scott Joffe, Anthony Pettis and Duke Roufus, along with talented producer/director/editor Kenn A. Williams of Franksville, WI. “Leaders of the Revolution” will be featured in all radio and television commercials promoting “WI MMA Today” and on the NAFC website, as well.
Roufusport’s Joffe commented, “Roufusport has been highlighting local talent for over 15 years. We considered licensing well-known songs from many major label artists or going with something generic that was available, but from the first time any of us heard it, it seemed like ‘Leaders of the Revolution’ was literally made for ‘WI MMA Today.’ We are always proud to feature great up-and-coming local music along with great up-and-coming local fighters.”
Roufus added, “I instantly liked it. It’s definitely got the sound we were looking for. That Dan trained for a while at Roufusport when we were on 1st and Virginia years ago really makes the relationship that much more special. I think it’s great he’s part of what we’re creating with ‘WI MMA Today.’ Everything has come full circle.”
“WI MMA Today” first episode aired November 10, 2012 with the show airing every Saturday for 13 weeks at 10:30 pm on WCGV My24 with online rebroadcast of each episode on “WI MMA Today’s” YouTube channel (WIMMATodayTV) set for the subsequent Monday following its television airing.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
John Masino Band CD release December 27, 2011
The John Masino Band releases its latest CD titled “Really?” on Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
Madison, Wisconsin, Wednesday, December 21, 2011 — Guitar legend John Masino and band release their long awaited CD “Really?” on Tuesday, December 27th, 2011. “Really?” includes eleven songs that cover a surprisingly wide range of styles from Rock, Pop, Funk, Dance, Metal, and instrumental. John Masino’s production wizardry abounds on this latest release from one of the Heartland’s top guitarists. Drawing on his years of experience as a guitarist and songwriter, the CD features a vast array of guitar styles, keyboard textures, and production values he has assimilated during the course of his career.
The CD features primary songwriter John Masino on vocals, guitar, keyboards and bass guitar, as well as JMB band members Mark Breyer (bass guitar), and John Roberts (drums/co-songwriter), with a special guest appearance by synthophonist Patrick Noles. The JMB rhythm section provides a strong, solid, groove oriented foundation for John to aurally weave his way in and around the compositions. The songs are FM friendly, powerful, and memorable. This bold effort gives the listener a little bit of everything.
The John Masino Band “Really?” is available through ITunes, Amazon, Broadjam, Reverb Nation and direct through Rock Central Studio. The Band performs frequently throughout the Midwest. Catch them in 2012.

re·cal·ci·trant (r -k l s -tr nt). adj. Marked by stubborn resistance to and defiance of authority or guidance. a : difficult to manage or operate b : not responsive to treatment. These are all definitions of the term that has become known as band, Recalcitrant. After having the opportunity to sit down and talk with the band, it is clear these definitions do not apply to the individual members. Recalcitrant, as a collective, fits into the dictionary definition perfectly. This band began it’s Rise to success in 2002 with a focus on hip hop/reggae influenced material. When asked what the vision for establishing the band was, founding vocalist and guitarist Joe England responded with “My mission was to start a band and perform whatever we wanted, whatever moved us.” Throughout a few transitions leading up to 2007 when the band, as we now know them, began performing as Joe describes it “a high energy mix of Reggae,Ska,Hip-Hop,Jam,Rock,and Blues..With a positive message In a Marleyesqe type fashion. Recalcitrant is a great soundtrack to the modern man’s struggle.” From warehouse funky reggae jam parties to regular shows in Milwaukee area venues to Turner Hall and the Wisconsin State Capitol steps for 2010′s Harvest Festival, these guys have been on the Rise pleasing crowds while gaining friends and family wherever the “Recalcibus” takes the crew. Joe England is also the captain of the vehicle that ensures adequate and safe accommodations for the crew, which as he pointedly stated “This bus has been our home away from home here in Wisconsin and Minnesota to lower Michigan and we take care good of it with regular maintenance.” Now with an established production company booked for festivals here in the midwest such as IfdaKamp 2012, Recalcitrant is making the right moves on the steady path of happiness and success, ensuring each year will be another level of progress. With access to a full recording studio, Recalcitrant is about to release their first official mastered demo CD after several years of honing these songs in front of fans in the live setting. “Borrowed Power” is an inspiring handfull of original songs that we have been listening to over and over. Our feeling is that this band is on the Rise. Link up with Recalcitrant and show some support of their newly launched CD!

So what did David Lurhssen (Arts and Entertainment editor of the Shepherd Express), one the biggest writer/journalist in the state of Wisconsin, have to say about my new record?
“Elvis Thao is a socially conscious rocker from Milwaukee with a voice capable of rage and vulnerability, an ear for melody and a gift for the occasionally memorable line of lyric.” And then he proceeds to say, key line: “His stand up and fight song “No! (Neutralize)” could be the best anthem to emerge from the new age of protest.”
