BelleVue Suite
This four-man band has been acclaimed by rock genre artists on major record labels, and performs their original songs at venues throughout the Midwest and East Coast. BelleVue Suite is nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “Rock Group/Artist” category.
Carry Nation
Performing the latest rock songs and time-tested classics, the bands’ three lead vocalists assure an accurate reproduction of its set list, complimented with stellar musical performance. Carry Nation has won past WAMI awards, has performed opening shows for national acts, and performed at Summerfest, Miller Maritime Days, and more. The band is nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “CD/Recording” category.
Alex Wilson Band
Performing original music, the band’s debut album, "Tell Me Why," was released earlier this year on its own record label — Rathskellar. The band’s musical influences include Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, and Buddy Guy. Alex Wilson is nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “Blues Group/Artist” category.
One Drum
A multi-cultural ensemble which performs songs, stories, and dances rooted in the cultures of Africa, the Caribbean, Australia, the Middle East, and the Americas, One Drum has a collection of aboriginal, ancient, modern, and one-of-a-kind percussive, string and wind instruments. Using oral traditions of call-and-response, sing-along, creative movement, dance, and hands-on-learning, One Drum expresses a universal spirit. One Drum is nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “World Beat” category.
Nashville Pipeline
No stranger to the Green Bay and Fox Valley areas, this five-man country band is dubbed one of the area's most demanded and busiest bands, because of its high-energy shows. The band has been nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “Country” category.
Chris Crain and Co.
Chris Crain and Co. arrived onto the Milwaukee music scene in 2006, and already has recorded a CD. The group has been nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “Contemporary Jazz Group/Artist” category.
Hindsight
Nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “New Group/Artist” category, Hindsight has performed at several venues in the Fox Valley.
Liam Ford and The Band in Black
Comprised of four veteran Milwaukee-area musicians and nominated for a 2007 WAMI in the “New Group/Artist” and “Bluegrass/Americana” categories, Liam Ford and the Band in Black performs rockabilly and Americana music.
Ronnie Nyles & the Krash Band
Nominated in a combined eight WAMI categories, including “Group/Artist,” “Female Vocalist,” and “Folk/Acoustic Group/Artist,” Ronnie Nyles & the Krash Band regularly perform in Milwaukee, Green Bay, and northern Illinois, and at this year’s 2007 Milwaukee Pridefest, opening for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
John Calarco
With many years of drumming experience, John Calarco has played, toured, and/or recorded with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Andy Summers (The Police), Jimmy Vaughn (The Fabulous Thunderbirds), and Todd Sucherman (Styx). He also has performed jingles for McDonald’s, Miller Beer, Coca-Cola, and more. Calarco received a 2004 WAMI award in the “Best Percussionist” category.
