2013 WAMI Awards Show

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Feb. 19, 2013

WISCONSIN AREA MUSIC INDUSTRY 2013 AWARDS SHOW

MILWAUKEE, WI – The winners and nominees of the 33rd annual Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Awards were saluted, alongside a remarkable slate of Hall of Fame honorees, at the 33rdAnnual Awards Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 14 at Turner Hall. Doors opened at 6 p.m., with the Awards Show beginning at 7 p.m.

A complete list of nominees is available here. Tickets awere available for $24.99/adults and $15/students and on sale March 1. Special VIP packages were available for $50/each, include a front and center table, two free cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres. Tickets will be sold through the Pabst Theater box office, http://pabsttheater.org/show/wamiawards2013.

WAMI president James McMahon comments, “We’re thrilled and honored to bring the WAMI Awards Show back to Milwaukee this year.”

In addition to presenting awards in 35 categories the show featured a variety of live music performances and a salute to the Hall of Fame honorees. This year’s performers include The Jimmy’s, Sexy Ester, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, The Squeezettes, Klassik, Annex and De La Buena.

New to Milwaukee this year was a one-night musical showcase spread across five live music venues in the city, “Downtown Alive,” on Saturday, April 13. Participating venues included Buckheads, German Beer Hall, Suite and Upper 90. Click here to view the current schedule.

The Wisconsin Area Music Industry is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to educate and recognize the achievements and accomplishments of individuals in the Wisconsin music industry.  The group also utilizes its funds to provide a Youth Music Showcase and provide scholarships to students and emerging artists.

For the convenience of those attending the 2013 WAMI Awards Show and Downtown Alive, WAMI has been able to secure 10 rooms at each of the hotels listed below. This is for Saturday April 13, 2013 and Sunday April 14, 2013. Please see corresponding prices. Please contact the hotels for additional information.

The final day to book is March 30th.

The guests need to say that they are with WAMI/WAMI Awards to get the rate.

    Thank you WAMI for Yipes! induction into the Hall of Fame, I am sincerely honored and wish I could be there for the ceremony, unfortunately I live in Italy and can’t make the trip. Say hi to everyone for me especially Peter Strand, Mike Hoffmann, and Pat McCurdy and Andy Bartel if he shows up. Thanks again, sincerely, Teddy Freese
