Hi WAMI,
wondering if there is any local solo and/or group acts who would like to sing to save lives? The Humane Animal Welfare Society just launched a contest for folks to sing their jingle in effort to promote their 30th annual walk a thon to help save animals and give them a respectable quality of life. You can get more info here: http://hawspets.org/sing_to_save_lives.html
There will be some great publicity for this. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Hey guys,
We are looking for 15 bands to play at our event at SXSW on the weekend of March 14-16th. Bands have to play original music and they have to commit to the slot. The venue is the 311 Club on Sixth Street. We’d certainly like some WI representation since our business is run out of and operated in Mequon, WI. I will be at the WAMI event on 01/13/13 but anyone who may be interested can contact me at michael.canter@jivewired.com for details.
I have been trying to send you an EPK on behalf of E is For Epic for the event Downtown Alive 2. I sent it, per Kennita Hickmans request, to membership@wamimusic.com
Keep getting a notice that says the message was undeliverable to that address.
Is there another address I should send the EPK to ?
Thanks.

Hello Eric,
WAMI’s Mail Service Provider is (today of all days) in the process of migrating servers. In your particular case, we did receive your EPK and attachments and it is being considered. If there are additional materials you wish to send, please wait 24-48 hours if possible. All issues should be resolved by then.
I have sent additional information to the email address associated with this post.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Steve Tomczyk

I was wondering if you folks had a structure that could be visited …. a WAMI Hall of Fame if you will. Is there any Hall of Fame for Music in the State of Wisconsin, and if not, why not? Take care.
Mark, please see: http://wamimusic.com/about/wami-history/wami-hall-of-fame/. There is a WAMI-generated as well as an outside listing of WAMI History. Please see: http://wamimusic.com/about/wami-history/wami-award-winners-historical/ for details.
I had the pleasure of listening to and meeting Dirt Road Law one of this years wami winners this past month.(they did a nice plug for WAMI at a show in manitowoc at the Rock N. Blues Haus) If anyone has never seen this band, you have got to check them out! The lead female singer is off the charts an amazing performer, who captures everyones attention. The whole place was just staring and listening in awe. The entire band is captivating and i would hightly recommend this show. I’ve traveled the county and am a live music supporter and I cant remember the last time i saw a band that was this good. Keep up the good work WAMI.. I’m off to check out more of your bands this summer!!

Had a great time at the WAMI Awards in Appleton, thanks again for the opportunity to volunteer backstage, I had a blast meeting all the bands and the WAMI staff. I look forward to the next event and hopefully one day winning an award. I met a lot of cool bands and heard some great music in the downtown Appleton area that I would not probably have otherwise done. Thanks again.
I’d first like to know why there is no list of who is up for what award?
Chuck,

i want to volunteer there. I’ll do anything.
Hi Britney,
Thanks for contacting us. The best way to begin would be to come to one of our General Meetings and talk to some of the WAMI Board, Committee Members and other current Members.
We are having a General Meeting (free and open to the public) this Wednesday at BBC at 7:00 PM. Please visit the Events or Calendar sections of the WAMI website for details. http://www.wamimusic.com It helps if we know a bit of your background, what you may be interested in doing and what your availability is. Also if you don’t already receive it, please register on our site for the WAMI newsletter.
I would hope you could make the Wednesday meeting. If not, there is another meeting in March. (We try for the second Wednesday of the month.) There are many opportunities with the Awards Show coming up in April. You could also try contacting secretary@wamimusic.com and cc volunteer@wamimusic.com for other available opportunities.
We hope to have a few postings on the Join > Join Committee Section of the WAMI website soon.
Thanks for your interest in WAMI!
Hope to see you Wednesday.

Steve Tomczyk
