NOVEMBER 2011 WAMI FEATURED ARTIST – ETHAN KELLER
Ethan Keller is a singer-songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was voted Best Solo Artist in the 2011 Milwaukee Music Awards, and Best Pop Artist in the 2011 Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Awards.
The founder and former front man of the eclectic funk-rock outfit, Greenscene (voted Best Rock Band in Jim Beam’s 2001 National Band Search) and current of the Ethan Keller Group he is known for his originality, diversity, and depth. Musically and professionally, Keller wears many hats. He is often spotted sporting other unique clothing. One writer said he wears “his spirituality on his sleeve;” Keller is also the son of a former Catholic priest.
Keller’s latest six-song EP entitled Profit, produced by two-time Grammy winner Ted Greenberg, released spring 2010 and has aired on over 250 college stations nationwide, debuting in the top 5 CMJ adds in several markets. Ethan’s music is in heavy rotation at WYMS 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, and has showcased on other commercial, college, and public radio stations in the Lakeside City.
Keller’s songs have been featured on sites such as MySpace, iTunes, Zune and LaLa, and songs on Profit can be heard on several shows on the MTV network. Ethan has performed at prestigious venues in nearly 30 states, and sold over 10,000 records. Ethan is recently off a summer 2011 tour, writing, and recording material for his next release.
