February 2013 WAMI Featured Artist – Ida Jo
The featured artist for February is the incomparable Ida Jo. A musical prodigy from the age of 7, Ida Jo has an impressive resume of international performances. Skilled in violin, she can play anything from folk fiddle (chopping) to classical. But it’s what she can do with what she has, that makes her impressive. She makes the violin sound like an acoustic guitar or orchestra, a style only a handful of violinist knows how to do. Her latest album “Uncharted” showcases some of that chopping as well as familiar instrumentation, stomping, and clapping. Plus, new this time, a few poems.
